This shot marks my first dialogue animation created during my senior year. Unlike previous projects where I selected my own audio, this assignment involved being given a line of dialogue and animating a longer shot, similar to a studio production workflow. Throughout the process, I focused on using pose holds to clearly communicate the character’s story beats and emotional shifts. I went through multiple blocking passes to refine the timing and ensure the narrative moments were well defined before moving into polish. Compared to my previous work, I spent significantly more time refining the performance during the polishing stage. I focused on making the facial animation feel natural and fleshy, while adding subtle details such as eye darts, brow movement, and head accents to bring more life and nuance to the performance.
