KitchenNote is a countertop recipe-capture device designed to help older adults preserve and share their cooking knowledge in a tangible way. Instead of relying on a phone, it lets users record a recipe while they cook, capture a photo of the dish, and print the result as a postcard-sized keepsake that can be gifted, mailed, or saved. The project began as an exploration of how to help people living alone later in life feel more fulfilled through contribution, and evolved into a simpler, more focused system centered on legacy, teaching, and everyday ritual. The final design combines a voice-first interface, integrated camera, and instant physical output to make sharing recipes feel calm, meaningful, and easy.
