About Me
Hi there! I’m Rochel "Shy" Ortega, a Filipino-American concept artist and visual development enthusiast with roots in the Philippines and a heart in Oakland, California. Growing up, I was immersed in the vibrant worlds of video games, anime, cartoons, and even the whimsical pages of Highlights magazines. These early influences sparked my love for storytelling and visual art, and they continue to inspire my work today. Currently, I’m pursuing my degree in Animation and Illustration at San Jose State University, with a focus on Visual Development. My goal is to bring stories to life through compelling designs, whether it’s for video games, films, or TV. I’m passionate about creating worlds and characters that inspire, entertain, and resonate with audiences. When I’m not sketching or painting, you can find me baking sweet treats, diving into a good novel, or obsessing over delightfully ugly dogs (they’re my weakness). I’m always eager to collaborate, learn, and grow as an artist. If you’d like to work together or chat about art, games, or dogs, feel free to reach out! Let’s create something amazing
