Inspired by Razer’s iconic three-headed snake logo, design elements throughout the space incorporate snake-like forms. Their fluid movement translates into organic circulation paths, while their diverse scale patterns and shapes influence material finishes. Enclosed rooms take on an oval shape, mimicking a snake’s defensive posture to foster a sense of protection and enclosure. A designated “moody area” caters to gamers' preference for darker environments, integrating conference rooms, offices, and individual workspaces for focused tasks. Additionally, game rooms provide employees with opportunities to enjoy gaming within the workspace. By seamlessly integrating Razer’s brand identity and gaming culture, this project aims to create an engaging, productive, and comfortable workplace that employees are eager to return to. Balancing functionality with elements of home and recreation, the design not only meets Razer’s operational needs but also enhances employee satisfaction, redefining the modern workplace experience.
The project proposes the design of a ~65,000 sq. ft., three-story community center located in New York City. The primary goal is to create a welcoming environment that supports community-oriented programs where people can gather, interact, and build connections. The design must respond to the context of New York while providing flexible, inclusive spaces that serve diverse community needs. Because New York City is recognized worldwide as a cultural “melting pot,” shaped by generations of immigrants who brought their traditions, identities and histories. Among the earliest major groups to shape the city’s cultural landscape were Asian immigrants, followed by the Great Migration of African Americans from the South, and later large waves of Hispanic immigration. The Nexus Community Center celebrates these communities by honoring their cultural influences.
