Our concept is based on the inspiration from different peranakan motifs. In a lot of the motifs and peranakan culture, they use different flowers, animals, and mythical creatures and all represent different things. In our design, we focused on the flying creatures. We used the feathers and the shapes of the peacock and the scales and movement of the dragon for our generative framework. As you move throughout the space, the floors will go from more dense on the bottom floor to less dense on the top floor. There are floor to ceiling elements and protruding arches to mimic the movement of the dragon. The first floor is inspired by the peacock and the way they move around the ground. The second floor is inspired by dragons and the scales, movement, and colors of both creatures. Our design challenge was to incorporate the curvilinear forms of these creatures with the peranakan style.
