My Turn!

My Turn! is a 2D animated short film following sisters Liz and Beth one morning as they race to get to the bathroom first. Inspired by Looney Tunes and slapstick comedy cartoons, the girls take increasingly chaotic measures to reach their goal. Their wild antics have allowed this short to fully embrace the 2D animation medium, stretching our characters and pushing silly scenarios to the absurd. Based on director Isabelle Tumboimbela’s childhood growing up in Jakarta, this film is a tribute to the sweet, complex, and infuriating relationships between siblings. Underneath the sister’s rivalry, there’s a bond that is stronger than any fight or argument. This film is dedicated to the power of sisterhood, and the way that love shapes us.
